a favorite tradition: advent calendar

Yesterday was December 1st which meant putting up and starting our advent calendar. It's easily one of our favorite christmas traditions, i almost wish we could keep it up all year. We take turns each day filling the envelope with a special christmasy date or activity, and the occasional small gift. I made a new one this year and I love it.. Simple and easy! It's definitely not too late to make one, even a 20 day calendar is better than none. i cannot stress enough how fun it is.. do it!

  8. This is such a lovely idea! Opening the advent calendar was one of my favourite activities as a kid too, we used the same old battered one for years but it was always so exciting :) My husband and I should start our own advent tradition, it's just such a sweet way to start marking the festivites and joys of the season.

  15. This is such a beautiful idea! Love the simplicity, we have a canvas one that we break out every year...even though we're probably getting too old for it now. Christmas traditions are the best :) x
